God requires obedience. Today I was disobedient. By the time I was willing to do what God had asked the opportunity no longer was present. Always be ready to say yes to Jesus even when it is inconvenient. Do you think it was convenient for Jesus to come to earth and die on a cross? Do you think it was easy for Jesus to be ridiculed? No. His love cost His life, and it should cost my life too.
“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it” Luke 9:23-24.
I don’t know how your heart enters this Thanksgiving. Maybe you are grieving the loss of someone you loved. Maybe you are missing a child far from home. Perhaps you are grieving a situation that didn’t turn out how you hoped. God is not going anywhere. He is constant and waiting for us to come to Him. If you are His child He will give you the strength to praise Him. He will give you the strength to take up your cross and honor Him with your life. Just because life is hard isn’t an excuse not to praise Jesus and to obey Him.
